Position Summary

Interior Health has a variety of intermediate level Clinical Analyst and Business Systems Analyst positions available, based out of both Kelowna and Kamloops, in the Southern Interior of BC. Come and join one of our dynamic teams!

Position Information:
Our Clinical and Business System Analysts evaluate, plan, implement, test, maintain and support clinical and business systems used by clinicians and staff at Interior Health. Our systems support the care of patients as well as financial and management information needs throughout all of Interior Health. Our analysts work directly with clinicians, managers and staff at various levels of the organization.

Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, the thriving city of Kelowna is situated on the eastern shores of Lake Okanagan in the south central region of British Columbia. It is the largest city in the area and boasts all of the amenities of a major centre including fine dining, unique shops and a vibrant arts and culture scene. Team / Project Profiles:

Business Systems: Work with our Human Resource and Finance professionals supporting both our employee processes (hire through retire) and financial business processes (timekeeping through payroll to general finance) by providing operational support, process & system improvements, and data management.

Community Systems: Working with healthcare professionals in a variety of care settings, Clinical Analysts will provide operational support for a number of critical information solutions used in both the planning and the delivery of care to clients living in our communities. As part of a skilled and dynamic team providing innovative software and technology solutions, your work will help our community programs achieve their goal to support the care needs of our clients in their homes and reduce the pressures on our Interior Health Acute Facilities.

Community Wide Scheduling: Join a dynamic and collaborative team where you will have the opportunity for providing customer support and leading your own implementations of the Meditech Scheduling Software. Working on this team will allow you to develop process maps, gather requirements, perform system configurations (based on the customer’s needs), train end-users and support the customers through Go Lives. You will have the chance to influence process improvements, build efficiencies and support workflows while building strong relationships with many healthcare professionals.

Documentation Systems: Work with professional practice leads for nursing, rehab, social work and dieticians, to design, implement and support Meditech electronic clinical documentation and workflows. Supporting this information system contributes to improved patient care in order to achieve positive patient and client outcomes.

Mental Health Systems: Working with healthcare professionals in the Community, Tertiary, and Acute Mental Health Substance Use areas, you will work in a collaborative team to support staff using Meditech as well as helping to design, implement and support electronic clinical documentation and workflows. Supporting this information system contributes to improving patient care with a focus on the expanding field of mental wellness.

Pharmacy Systems: Work with Pharmacy professionals to ensure the Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and multiple interfaces support the pharmacy department to care for every patient through appropriate, timely and safe medication management.

Physician and Emergency Systems:
Clinical information is critical to patient care. The Meditech EHR (Electronic Health Record) is the core tool Interior Health utilizes to provide timely patient information enabling clinical decision making and treatment. As Meditech is an integrated system the information in the patient’s electronic chart is accessible by care providers across the continuum of care. The Physician and Emergency Systems team works with physicians and nursing staff in acute settings to provide technology solutions such as electronic whiteboards, voice recognition software, electronic charting and mobile devices to streamline clinical workflows enabling better quality patient care.

Primary Care Systems: Join our dynamic team as we work to support transformation and growth for Primary and Community Health Care delivery by leveraging technology solutions! The Clinical Analysts are involved with Electronic Medical Record system support, improvement and growth as we work to build efficiency and improve access to information for our front line health care providers.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
For the Clinical Analyst roles, in addition to the required education qualifications and experience, education with a Health Information Systems focus and software support experience working directly with clinicians is considered an asset.

For the Business Systems Analyst roles, a diploma or degree in Computer Information Systems is preferred. As well, previous experience working directly with business and financial systems (Scheduling, HRIS, ERP, LMS, etc.) and providing detailed business analysis, is considered an asset.

Required Education:
– Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science
– Two years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

– Ability to operate related equipment.
– Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
