Systems Analyst-Billing SME

Position Description
Definition:
The candidate we are looking for is someone that possesses not only technical knowledge but also business acumen and excellent analysis skills. The candidate must be a fast learner, someone that takes ownership, be able to assimilate complex knowledge or functions and provide guidance and recommend solutions for a Billing application.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
– Demonstrate leadership by bringing the team together in understanding the business requirements, the solution to be implemented and the success criterias for implementation;
– Act as the “go to” person for questions and/or problems related to the application;
– Provide support and clear direction to the members working with he/she;
– Provide explanations on how the application is working and why it is working like it is;
– Is accountable to understand the business/functional requirements and translate them into into highly performant solutions;
– Analyzing and communicating stakeholder needs by translating business requirements into software requirements;
– Where required, develop associated use cases and process documents;
– Documenting and evaluating required data and information. Maintain and comply with Requirements Traceability documentation to ensure scope requirements are met;
– Provide guidance and support on test plans and test cases as required on smaller projects. Support the test team as required on larger initiatives;
– Work with the team on implementing Recommended Solutions on projects;
– Produce documentation as per Project Management methodology and ensure that all deliverables (including technical documents) comply with established quality standards;
– Consulting with management and users to determine the needs of the system;
– Designing system requirements to meet the business goals;
– Developing specifications, diagrams and flowcharts for programmers to follow;
– Overseeing implementation, coordinating tests and observing initiation of the system to validate performance;
– Provide guidance and support to members of the team on the project to ensure that everyone understand what needs to be done;
– Provide recommendations on application improvements;
– Work with onshore and offshore team members.

Required Work Experience:
– A minimum of 5-7 years experience as a Systems Analyst and/or Subject Matter Expert;
– Telecommunications environment an asset;
– Billing knowledge is an asset;
– Broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and application architecture standards required;
– Experience designing, developing and testing applications using proven or emerging technologies;
– Working in Agile environments;
– Able to navigate in a high pace environment and release management;

Preferred Level of Education (include certifications):
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, Managing Information Systems or other related field.

– Excellent written and verbal communications;
– 7 years direct experience working with:
o SQL for DB2 z/OS;
o DataStade v8.5 or higher (must have);
o In depth knowledge of common QA best practices, principles and processes.
– Unix/Linux Scripting;
– Toad;
– In-depth experience transforming system requirements into technical requirement;
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with attention to detail and thoroughness;
– Strong teamwork and communication skills, plus a flexible approach to tasks and the working environment;
– English or Bilingual (French/English).
