IT Systems Administrator

Department:  Information Technology

Location: Laval, Québec; Work from home – Temporarily due to COVID-19.

Type: Permanent, Full-time

THE ROLE 

Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for providing service to users regarding any information or technical support requests. You will record incident reports and service requests, as well as install equipment and software. You will be responsible for the operation of Couche-Tard's information systems. This is a bilingual position (French / English) and proficiency in both languages is required.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Here are just a few ways that you’ll help make journeys better:  

  • Analyse and solve technical problems with computers (level 2-3) and software in a timely and accurate manner;

  • Operate various systems and peripherals such as PCs, printers, IP telephony, multimedia equipment and various computer-related peripherals;

  • Document any incidents or events that occur during your shift and ensure that this information is passed on to the next shift;

  • Install, configure and update equipment and software according to the organization's standards

  • Participate in various projects and initiatives related to your field of expertise (workstation and peripheral deployments, obsolescence management, testing, etc.);

  • Ensure stable operation, installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware, software and peripherals connected to the user's workstation;

  • Work directly with other system administrator members;

  • Assist in testing new hardware units and custom software products and their implementation;

  • Create procedures, documentation and provide training to users as required;

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems;

  • Analyse system logs and identify potential problems with computer systems;

  • Set up new user accounts (internal and external), delete or update user account information, reset passwords, etc.;

  • Maintain daily backups, database integrity and server availability.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

We want you to join our team! Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  • Minimum 5 years experience in system administration;

  • Minimum educational requirements: College diploma in computer technology or other relevant field;

  • Minimum of 3 years experience, with the following technologies (if applicable):

    • Office 365 management (Exchange online, Azure, ADFS)

    • Windows Server 2008 – 2019

    • Citrix XenApp  7.x et plus

    • GNU/Linux Redhat 5.5 – 7.x

    • Vmware Vsphere 6.0 – 6.5, Datastore Clustering, DRS

    • Microsoft Active Directory – domain/forest level 2012 et plus

    • Veeam Backup et Replication

    • IBM Storewize et HP EVA storage systems

    • Microsoft Powershell 4.0 et plus     

    • Symantec Endpoint Protection

    • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012

  • Possess technical, analytical, communication and organisational skills;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

  • Excellent written / oral communication skills, in French and English;

  • Good collaboration, teamwork, communication and time management skills, with the ability to work well independently;

  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
